The Withering

The premise of this game is fairly simple. Gehenna in the canon of this particular RPG was mainly the Wormwood scenario (with a dash of Nightshade) in which the red star appeared and the Kindred of the world were subjected to The Withering. The Antediluvians awoke (Tzimisce arose in the middle of New York City and was killed there; causing a brief exposure of Camarilla vampires to the public which was quickly covered up as a hoax by the government), and they were ultimately destroyed at the valley of Hinnom. The dawn after the Antediluvians died, the Withering stopped, and the red star disappeared. Most of the world's vampires were destroyed...including entire clans and bloodlines. But some survived, mainly those between the 8th-14th generations (Thin bloods became mortal again).

But even those who were spared were forever changed, as was vampire-kind itself.

The Sundering

As the baleful star vanished from sight the surviving vampires felt an odd sense of strength filling them; a stark contrast to the terrifying weakness they'd experienced during the Withering. Generation, essentially, had become meaningless as their blood no longer thinned as they sired new progeny. Their Beasts had weakened as well, allowing them a greater ability to resist the more bestial side of their natures and giving those who sought Golconda a better chance at attaining it.

But as the ashes of Gehenna finally began to die down the survivors were hit with other shocking revelations. Fledglings sired after Wormwood's disappearance seemed normal enough at first, but it soon became apparent that although they were spared the original flaw of their clan, they had developed a new one to replace it. More alarming though, rumors have begun to spread that some Kindred Embraced during the Withering itself were not only not normal, but so different from their Sires that they should be counted as a new breed of vampire entirely. These 'abnormal' childer were spared their sire's flaw as well, but also manifested a new discipline and seemed far more human than their progenitors. Some sires did their best to slay these strange new kindred, others kept them close in an effort to try to understand why they were so different, and still others drove them away. Regardless of their reception, however, enough of these progeny survived that six months after the end of Gehenna they are beginning to make themselves known...if only to each other.
